After graduating, Dr. Gilmartin completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in Massachusetts. She practiced general and emergency medicine in northern Boston for four years. Since 2011, her primary focus has been general practice and non-profit work.
Dr. Gilmartin enjoys both the medical and surgical aspects of veterinary medicine, as well as supporting the human-animal bond. Her hope is to help strengthen the human-animal bond between you and your pet by taking the appropriate steps to prevent disease and promote optimal wellness to allow your pet to live the longest life possible.
Throughout her career she has volunteered or worked for various humane societies or non-profits, and has special interest in dental care and surgery. She is delighted to work in an environment that provides high quality medicine and care, while maintaining the welcoming atmosphere of a small clinic at an affordable cost.
Her desire is to provide your family with high quality and compassionate veterinary care through conventional and alternative approaches.
She is delighted to be back in her home state of North Carolina. In her free time, she enjoys running, gardening, going on trips to the beach or mountains, hiking, attending church, and being with her two boys, animals, family, and friends.
